Paint Brush Play

Flora
I really like to take art classes.  My problem is that most of them are out of my price range. Ann and I decided we would watch a few You Tube videos and see if we could learn a new technique that way.  She found a video using the Flora Brush.  The video is on about how to paint a poinsettia.  I didn't want to paint Christmas flowers in March so I played around with the brush and some acrylic paint.  I painted on substrates that I had sitting around on my desk.  Lori gave me the Guest Check and the tea bag wrapper is one of many I've used since I got the Creeping Crud (aka... cough and runny nose from hell).

I plan to watch the video a few more times because I really want to learn how to to paint so that some of the petals look like they are behind others. For this page, I was happy to paint a flower that looked like a flower when I finished.  The flora brush is fun to work with.  It makes a great petal.

Journal 52's challenge this week is How does your garden grow.  I thought this page was perfect for that challenge so I've linked to Journal 52 also.

  3. Oooh...that brush looks impressive. I love the shape.
I'm toying with the idea of going to an art class but can't see how I'd manage it just at the moment so a few videos might be the better option for now.
Thanks for the idea Boo ;D
