Happy Mail Art

This page started out as a clean up page.  It had orange paint from another project.  The Paisley is a paper napkin I received as happy mail from a friend. The piece on the right is part of a table I made for a workshop I attend each fall. I was using that paper to catch embossing powder last week.---- The butterfly was made from a piece of deli paper and a sizzix die. I used purple, pink and iridescent paint to color the butterfly.  I cut a second butterfly from recycled cardboard so that the butterfly would have more depth and strength. I cut bits of the napkin to embellish the wings.

I often learn things when I do journal pages. What I learned this time was that a a little iridescent paint goes a long way. It's hard to see the embellishments on the wings because I put a bit too much iridescent paint on them. I have had a similar problem with glitter paint.  I need to remember that less is more when it come to shiny.

  10. I do believe I learned the same lesson Boo - especially with too much sparkly the make just does not photograph well.
