Art Transcends Time and Distance

As I sit down to dinner.
Yesim, Lynn and Alison celebrate the morning.
Their today is my tomorrow, as I sit down to dinner.

As I sit down to dinner.
Gabriele, Jana & Mo celebrate midnight.
Their night is my evening, as I sit down to dinner

And yet, we share the same sun that shines and moon that rises.
As I think on this, the time & distance fade to nothing
Because we share the same love.

Pen, Ink, Paper and Paint know nothing of time or distance as they wait patiently for our return.

This page is dedicated to all my friends in Multi Media Madness.  I wanted all of their names to be in the poem but just couldn't find a way to fit them in....  I'm so blessed to know this wonderful group of ladies.  I never imagined I'd know so many talented people who live all over the US, Canada, Europe, The UK, Australia and China.  It amazes me how art and kindness transcends time and distance.

  1. Boo, this is one of the loveliest things I've read in a very long time....it is so heartfelt and precious. We have all touched each other's hearts in many ways and your words in this entire entry capture it so perfectly. I am honored to be a part of this wonderful, caring and fun loving group. We have all become sisters of a sort and it feels so safe to be here. Thank you again, Boo, from the bottom of my heart, for this incredible dedication. Much Love from Maine. <3

    1. I feel the same way. I was worried when you were working so much & I didn't see that you had posted. I wanted to make sure you were ok. I feel just like I have sisters everywhere.

  4. Mo sent me a link across to see your beautiful poem. It is so true and lovely and funny enough my name is Lynn, so even though I know it's not me I feel a part of it with my friend Mo.

  8. I love you poem, Boo! It's really beautiful. I like "this time and distance fade to nothing because we share the same love"...that is a wonderful line! I feel that same way too. I have never in my life felt so accepted and appreciated and loved as I have since meeting you and all the ladies from the groups. I feel like there are people who understand where I am coming from, and art is the common denominator, because whatever we make we put ourselves into it so much. We share these deeply personal expressions and people get to see what we truly are on the inside that way. And look how many people care about us when we let our real selves come to the surface. I am so, so grateful that I get to know there are people out there like you and like the girls from the groups, because I finally, finally, finally know that I am not alone. <3
