It's Spring!

I am so happy Spring has arrived. These little people remind be of imps dancing in the woods celebrating the arrival of Spring.

This page was done with a technique I heard about from my friend, Alison, who found it on Pinterest.  I followed the link and I found the directions on the ArtClubBlog.  It is made with Elmer's Gel Glue, Salt and Watercolor Paint.  I use part of two   different pieces to make my page.    I will probably do this technique again with a tree in the fall.  The colors will be gorgeous.  The most difficult thing for me was to waiting for the glue to dry.  The instructions suggest you let it dry over night.  I am impatient.  I'll never be a oil painter because it takes so long for oil to dry.  I drew the designs with the gel glue on water color paper and I did manage let it dry over night.   I wet the paper really well and then used pan watercolor paint.  The Imps are cut from chipboard, painted black and stenciled with gesso using drywall tape.

Jenn over at APR put out a challenge for combining colors and making up a new name for that color.  This one could be Grellow  (green+yellow) but I think I'd rather name the technique... This was done with The Graw Technique  (Drawing with Glue).  I think I'll link this one to the Use Your Words workshop by Carolyn Dube.  I liked the way the word Spring turned out written in glue.  Carolyn's Workshop is very fun.  I learned a lot from her.
