Make the Most of Play

The background was stenciled with gel medium through a Tim Holtz stencil several times and let it dry completely.  I painted over the gel medium with the colors of paint I had left on my pallet from another project. The gel medium acts as a resist. Before the paint was completely dry I used a baby wipe to wipe the paint off the Gel Medium areas.  I really like the light and dark contrasts it gave me.                                                                                                          I used a 1960s Golden Book encyclopedia page to stencil the children using a Andy Skinner stencil.  The butterflies were punched with a Stampin Up punch. The words Make the Most of Play are from the same page of the Golden Book. The topic of this volume was children which fit perfectly with my stencil.

A special Thank You to Mo at Twinkle's Twaddle who sent me the Andy Skinner stencil from Scotland when I couldn't find it here in the US.

  1. This is such a great page. It is perfect with the 2 children-the splotches from the gelli print remind me of balloons.
