Change is Required

Now that I've thought about this I realize this page probably should have said Change is Required for the Caterpillar to Fly.  LOL  It's a little late now.  Oh well.... either way you get the idea.  Aren't these butterflies fantastic?  They are a stamp set by Stampendous.  I fell in love with them the minute I saw them. Even better I got them half price. I just love a bargain.

This is another page in my Things That Fly Book.  I started with a light coat of gesso so some of the text would show through.  Then I added a few colors of craft paint to the background.  I embossed the butterflies on deli paper.  I love how the colors peek through the deli paper.  The butterflies on the left side were trimmed (a lot of people call that fussy cut but I don't care for that). All the the deli paper was glued with matte medium.  I hand lettered the words with an extra fine tip Montana Marker.  I'm stilling working on my tall skinny letters.  They were thinner but didn't show so well so I had to make them a bit more bold.

Hope you are all having a wonderful beginning to 2014.  I appreciate your comments so much.
