I don't do dark well. I don't like it dark outside. I don't like dark rooms and I don't like to do dark pieces of art. So this was, in fact, a challenge for me.
I decided to do night time, which was done on white paper with the stars embossed in clear. Then I brayered over the whole page with Denim Adirondack Ink. I've always liked light houses because they are by the sea and they bring light to people. This is a My Sentiments Exactly stamp also done in denim. I inked a Tim Holtz embossing folder with YoYo yellow from Stampin' Up for the light and the windows.
My dark had to have light because that is so me.
Good for you for taking it on as a challenge! I know dark can be a little scary/hard to approach. I love that you created a lighthouse! That's a beautiful thing to find in the darkness!

ReplyDeleteI liked having to stretch to do this challenge. Stretch is my word for this year. I want to do a few things out of my comfort zone in terms of my creative life.
