Practice

The prompt this week for Journal 52 is Silhouette.  I thought I'd give a tree a shot. I bought on an online class about painting trees and I've only watched a little of it.  It suggests really looking at trees to see if the limbs are knobby, crooked or straight.  I think I started out ok with my tree but then I tried to add branches behind other branches.  I think I need to watch that part of the video a few more times.  

This is not the worse tree ever but it's not the best either. I'm starting to "see" more when I look at trees so I'm OK with my first attempt.  I also have to see which brush the instructor was using... My limbs are a not as small on the ends as I'd like. I guess I need to practice a few hundred limbs and then try again in my journal. 

I am impatient. I don't want to practice. I want to have what is in my head in my journal.. Ha ha ha. Silly me.Gotta practice. So that is the moral of this blog story for today... Practice makes me a better artist.
