All or Nothing... Just Do It

In the past few months, I've learned that art is as much about confidence and the willingness to take a risk as it is about paint, ink and paper...

The willingness to take a risk is what
 this piece represents to me.

1. Sprayed with Dylusion and Adirondacks Ink and then misted so the colors would blend in my Dylusion Journal.

2.  Cut strips of paper (I used recycled paper...and stamped for texture.

3.  Cut a frame 1/2 inch smaller than my journal page. Then I cut the inside out leaving a 1/2 inch frame. I taped three strips about 1/4 inch apart at the top and bottom of my frame.

4. I wove my cross piecesto make sure they would fit and that I liked the color order.  Then I taped the cross pieces to the under side of the frame using double stick tape.

5. After all the pieces were taped to the back of the frame with double stick tape, this thought came into my head, "What If, I screw this piece up trying to do the lettering?"  In the past this thought could have paralyzed me.

Tonight I did something different.  I practiced the lettering on another piece of paper.  Then I picked up the pen and wrote the words without giving too much more thought to it.  If I had thought about it, my unwelcome friend, fear, would have reared it's ugly head and things might not have gone so well.

What I think affects the outcome. This time I just thought... Do it and I did.
